Who We Are:
The Coalition of Northland Development Organizations (CNDO) is a nonprofit organization serving Missouri's Clay and Platte counties. Our service area is comprised of approximately 250,000 residents and 6,500 business establishments. Key officials from area chambers of commerce, economic development councils and government economic development offices make up the membership of our organization. The Northland has both large and small incorporated communities, and many have become very proactive with their economic development efforts. Some of the Northland's suburban and urban cities include Gladstone, Liberty, Parkville, Riverside, North Kansas City, Platte City, Kearney, Smithville, Weston and Excelsior Springs. Our communities have many of the same challenges and strengths of our largest city, Kansas City. However, as non-entitlement cities for most direct federal grants, it has become even more important that Missouri's leaders be supportive to the causes of the entire Northland.

Challenges We Face:
Unlike most counties in our state, our communities are on the frontline of Economic Development. A perimeter of prosperity and advocacy needs to be in place along our state's borders if we are to defend those jobs and investment that are so important to our state's health.

What We Hope to Achieve:
By working together, we believe our region can more quickly and efficiently generate prosperity for our state and for individual communities. Today, our area has important infrastructure, quality schools, available real estate and quality of life amenities that are essential for accommodating growth-oriented corporations and related jobs. We must be ever protective of our resources and leverage each of them to maximum benefit for us to succeed. For example, the safe, well-kept entertainment and retail opportunities we offer are already capturing significant tax dollars and has created an influx of jobs. CNDO stands united in protecting and promoting our mutual assets.
